Yue Zi (月子）is a Chinese tradition that combines 30 days of bed resting and nutrients food intaking that is followed by almost all Chinese women after they give birth to help restoring their health back. As a Chinese woman I did try to follow all the “rules” but the entire traditional regimen was way more difficult than it was actually relaxing. Traditionally, during this month, the new mama is not allowed to leave the house, she should be staying in bed for most of the time, and more over she is not allowed to touch cold water when washing hands and brushing teeth, or drinking cold fluid. As crazy as it sounds, I could not finish my 30 days tradition, by the end of the third week my mind was going crazy because of not being able to step outside to breathe the fresh air. So I ended my Yue Zi at week three and pushed my stroller out to enjoy the beautiful spring.

Having a great workout session is always a good way to get my Monday started. I have been doing barre at Barre Body Studio for over a year and half now, and I am still feeling good doing it during my pregnancy. Barre is a combination of ballet, pilate and yoga, the isolation movements help to build up long and lean muscles, as well as improving my posture and flexibility. I am not sure when I will stop going to barre since I am reaching my last trimester, but working out is really important during pregnancy – it helps to burn those extra calories that both the baby and I don’t need, gives me positive energy and I am sure it will help me during labour too.

I always believe a thorough daily cleansing routine is the secret to beautiful glowing skin. And products that contain natural ingredients are the best for sensitive skin and have less chance to create irritation.
Bioderma makeup remover is best known for its ultra mild sensibio H2O cleansing solution, it is a quick and easy way to remove my eye makeup.
I use the AmorePacific cleansing oil as a treatment while massaging it on my face to dissolve the makeup. With a upwards circular movement it quickly melts the makeup and impurities, and by adding on some water the oil turns into a milky solution right away and leaves my skin fresh and hydrated.
To make sure I wash off all the makeup and impurities, I use the Nude Cleansing Wash with Clarisonic Cleansing Brush. The Nude Cleansing Wash has a healthy blend of probiotics, ginger, and great burnet root extracts, that work together to cleanse, clarify, and reduce irritation. And by using a Clarisonic Cleansing Brush, it gives my skin a even deeper and thorougher cleanse.
Hope this helps ❤

First of all, I need to say that I have lacked updating my blog for the past two and half months… I will definitely keep up with my posts from now on!
Second, I am reaching my 28 weeks of my pregnancy today! Three more months to go! I am really excited and nervous about it. For the past few months I have noticed a lot of changes going on with my body – a never ending runny nose, sensitive skin and worst of all….restless nights of sleep… apparently these are very common symptoms that are happening to me. Also, I have realised that by having a positive attitude, and mood is not only helping me enjoy my pregnancy more, but also very crucial for my baby. I believe my mood will affect the little one’s personality in the future.
Even though it is not that easy to be positive all the time, especially when I feel stressed and restless, I try to go to excise regularly. it definitely helps to connect my mind and body, in order to generates more energy. Another thing i have found that has contributed to my own “personal positive bubble” is always listening to music that I love – jazz, soul and funk are my favourite, it boosts my mood right away.
As I said earlier, pregnancy is not easy for anyone, you just need to find a way to enjoy it more! ❤

I started my 2-week Europe trip from the beautiful Scandinavian city Copenhagen. They say its the happiest place on earth, by the looks of the people, it seems to be. The pace of life is slow, not too many cars on the street, but tons of fast-riding bikers. The architecture was old and colourful, with beautiful winding streets which was a joy when I ended up taking the wrong turn. Not to mention, the people here are all beautiful – super model-like tall and blonde with barely anything make up on girls.
