Pleats Please!

Loads and loads of pleats come along with breezy fabric and a flawy skirt, unfortunately this detail is not  flattering for everyone unless you pick the right shape that suits your own body type.  If you’re a pear shape, look for a sleeveless fitted dress – you can show off your slim upper body and emphasise the waist while the pleats create a roomy skirt to hide your rounder bottom. If an apple shape, then a pleated skirt might be the better choice – wear it with a boyfriend button up shirt and heels for some effortless chic.

Apart from choosing the silhouettes for different body types, there are also some common pleats shapes that can make you look awesome. The box pleats, which look like a box from the side, probably can fix most of the body problems. Go for a thicker fabric choice to create the sporty look (Alexander Wang offers the best design of this style).. The knife pleats which look like origami are the most common kind. If you don’t have a really toned midriff, try and avoid the skirt that is pleated all the way from the waist line to bottom… trust me the pleats part will “unfold” at the waist and make you look like you have a bigger tummy. Instead, go for the style that have the pleats sewed together from waist to mid-thigh to solve the problem.

I hope everyone can find that perfect pleated skirt ❤

Midi is the New Length

Midi skirt, where the hemline hits around mid-calfs, is very sophisticated and elegant. This style flatters almost every body type. The high waisted long skirt elongates the bottom half of the body, which makes you look taller and leaner, but still shows off your slim ankles and feet. You can pair it with a cropped tee or a cropped knitted top for a casual look. Tuck in a button-up or bow-tie silk blouse will add more feminine touch to this style, also the softness of the shirt will add contrast to the thickness of the skirt. Heels are must-have for this whole look, unless you are tall like models, otherwise don’t wear flats, you will end up looking shorter than you are.

One other reason midi skirt is very in for this season – it is winter friendly! You can wear tights, ankle boots and a long tailored coat on top to keep warm and stylish!

I hope you enjoy this look! ❤

Futuristic Orange

Orange is the new red! It is futuristic yet simple, not too overwhelming like red, and has more attitude than pink.

It doesn’t matter if it is creamy, matte, neon or pastel – every single shade of orange looks fresh and strong!

Pastel Orange Lip Colours

REVLON COLORBURST Matte Balm in Mischievous Malicieuse; REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK in Lovers Coral; Rouge Coco Chanel in Mystique; Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in 51.

The “chemical peach” style of pastel orange colour gives you an instant freshen-up day look. Before you put on the lipcolour, it is very important to buff the dead skin off, no one wants to have orange chappy lips! And if you are using the matte lipstick, it’s always good to put some lip balm before, so the matte colour will look smoother and last longer. Because the colour is very light, you want to dab some foundation to cover up your own lip colour before applying the lipstick, in order to show the true pastel shade. To achieve this fresh day look, just keep the rest of the face matte and clean, with only sheer highlighter on the high points (brow bones, cheek bones and bridge of the nose), finish with one coat of black mascara. Wolah! Done!

Silvery metallic nails are the perfect pair with this “chemical peach” fresh look. File your nails square and short to make the nail colour look chic.

Bright, neon orange colour is great for a night out! It brightens up the face and makes the eyes sparkle. And it is very easy to transform the day-to-night look. Again keep the face matte and fresh with only highlighter on the high points, to balance the neon lips, you can dust golden shimmery shadow on the eye lids, along with winged-out black eyeliner, finish with two coats of black mascara.

Finish the bright night-out look with a pastel orange nail colour as a contrast of the lips, or with “go big or go home” high-shine sparkle metallic nail polishes.

I really love these orange shades on my lips, I hope you enjoy yours too!
